Sponge Cake Recipe Easy - Hot Milk Ingredients: 1 1/3 cups cake flour 1 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp table salt 1/2 cup whole milk 4 tbs unsalted butter 3 eggs, room temperature 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract Method: Preheat oven to 175oC. Grease and line the base and sides of a 5-inch round baking pan with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt twice. Heat butter and milk in a saucepan till butter melts. Remove from heat and set aside. Using an electric mixer, beat eggs with sugar and vanilla until tripled in volume. Sift 1/3 of flour mixture into beaten eggs and fold in carefully with a spatula. Add the remaining flour in 2 more batches. Reheat milk mixture until just under a boil. Add the hot mixture to batter and fold in until homogenously distributed. Spoon batter into prepared pan and bake for 40- 45 minutes until golden. Easy Smores Cake Recipe Cake 1 box Devil’s Food Cake (and ingredients needed to make it) Filling: 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff 3/4 cup powdered sugar 1/2 cup butter 1/2 teaspoon salt Topping 1 1/2 cups buttercream frosting 1 cup crushed Golden Graham cereal or graham crackers 1/2 cup triple chocolate chips Directions :  Make the cake according to directions and allow to cool. A 9x13in pan tends to work best for poke cakes but you can also use a gorgeous copper pan like this one Melt butter for the filling in a bowl and slowly mix in marshmallow fluff, powdered sugar, salt and sweetened condensed milk.  Set aside.  Use the end of a spoon to poke holes across the cake (see example), and slowly fill with filling mixture. Slow Cooker "Melt in Your Mouth" Pot Roast Ingredients: 1 chuck roast (mine was 3 pounds) Olive oil 1 pound carrots, peeled and cut into large chunks 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into large chunks 1 onion, peeled and cut into large chunks 2 stalks celery, cut into large chunks (optional) 1 cup beef broth 1 tablespoon corn starch SEASONING MIX - 2 tablespoons steak seasoning (mine is store-bought and has a blend of peppercorns, garlic, paprika, parsley and salt) 1 tablespoon kosher salt 1 tablespoon dried thyme 1 tablespoon dried rosemary Directions: Combine together seasoning mix in a small bowl.  Set aside. Coat both sides of meat with olive oil.  Sprinkle on a third of the seasoning mix onto each side. Sear both sides of the meat in a large skillet over medium-high heat.  Transfer roast to slow cooker. Ingredients 1 1/4 cups mashed banana | 2 large or 3 small bananas 1 cup non-dairy milk 1/3 cup canola oil 1 cup granulated sugar 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar 1 tablespoon vanilla 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 3/4 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips plus more for sprinkling on top Instructions Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a standard muffin pan with liners and spray them lightly with oil.  Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl. Measure to make sure you have about 1 1/4 cups mashed banana.  Add the non-dairy milk, oil, sugar, vinegar and vanilla to the bowl and whisk with the bananas until well combined.  To the wet mixture, add the flour, then sprinkle the baking powder and salt on top of the flour. Ingredients 2 large sweet potatoes 1/4 cup maple syrup 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 2 tablespoons olive oil Salt to taste Instructions Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up. Rinse, peel and cut the sweet potatoes into 3/4 inch cubes. In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon and olive oil. Spread the sweet potatoes in a single layer on the baking sheet and pour the maple syrup mixture over them. Season lightly with salt and toss to coat. Roast in the oven, for 30 to 40 minutes or until tender and the edges are lightly brown, turning them with a spatula once during the cooking process. INGREDIENTS 2 eggs, plus one egg yolk 3/4 cup (5 ounces) granulated sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste, or vanilla extract zest of half a lemon 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 cup (5 ounces) all-purpose flour, sifted 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 10 tablespoons (5 ounces) melted butter 2 tablespoons powdered sugar INSTRUCTIONS Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and grease the wells of the madeleine pan with butter. In a medium bowl, beat eggs with an electric hand mixer until they are pale yellow and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.  Add sugar and blend.  Add vanilla paste, lemon zest, and lemon juice and blend again. In a separate bowl, sift together flour and baking powder.  Add the flour mixture to the batter and gently fold it in by hand. Slowly pour in the melted butter and fold the batter gently by hand until completely incorporated. INGREDIENTS 3 eggs 2/3 cup (130 g) sugar 1 1/2 (7.5 ml) tsp orange zest 1 cup (120 g) flour 1 tsp (5 ml) baking powder ¼ tsp (1.25 ml) salt 6 tbsp (60 ml) melted butter 1 tbsp (7 g) powdered sugar INSTRUCTIONS Beat eggs with sugar until pale yellow. Add zest. Whisk together dry ingredients add to the egg mixture gently, until just combined. Then add melted butter. Refrigerate the batter at least 1 hour! Or overnight. This is really critical for getting the “hump” of a Madeleine, the traditional mark of this classic French cookie. Preheat oven to 350F/(176C). Lightly coat a non-stick, Madeleine pan with baking spray using this technique. Spray the baking spray into a small bowl and with a pastry brush lightly grease each well. Spoon 1 tbsp (15 ml) of batter into the center of the well and don’t touch it. It will spread out by itself and keep a more uniform shape that way. Ingredients 1 1/2 cup chicken cooked and shredded 2/3 cup salsa 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp dried oregano 2 tbsp canola or vegetable oil divided 1 package Knorr® Fiesta Sides™ - Spanish Rice 1 1/4 cup colby jack cheese shredded 4 flour tortillas burrito sized Instructions COMBINE the cooked shredded chicken with salsa, cumin, and oregano; set aside. Prepare Knorr® Fiesta Sides™ - Mexican Rice according to package directions (cover and simmer for 7 minutes). Remove from the heat. STIR in the chicken mixture and cheese with the rice. Divide the mixture between flour tortillas, wrap and place seam-side down on a lined baking sheet. INGREDIENTS 1⁄2 cup vegetable oil 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 large eggs 1⁄4 teaspoon baking powder 1⁄3 cup cocoa powder 1⁄4 teaspoon salt 1⁄2 cup flour DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 180 degrees Celsius. Mix oil and sugar until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla; stir just until blended. Mix all dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Stir dry ingredients into the oil/sugar mixture. Pour into greased 9 x 9 square pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until sides just starts to pull away from the pan. Cool completely before cutting.
